Additional services

We have provided additional services for customers who would like the translation of documents for public use and therefore may influence the perception of a company or institution (publication, book, promotional document, brochures, advertising material, etc.). The aim is to eliminate minor editorial imperfections that can be found even in the best translations. These services may apply to translations carried out by SYNTRAD or by third parties (including the client himself).

Editing

It is the analysis of a translated text (the target text) in terms of coherence, vocabulary, terminology accuracy and compliance with a defined style. It may include the recommendation of remedial measures. This work is done by editors who have mastered the field of expertise involved in the target language.

Please note: Editing does not include the comparison of the translated text with the source text.

Correction before publication

It is about checking the latest version of the text before publication. This includes an analysis of style, grammar, spelling and punctuation of the translated text.

Please note: Correcting does not include the creation of a computerized page layout (via Desktop Publishing also known as DTP), namely the "graphical" work, from the division of the text until the final preparation of the publication for different types of printing.

Verification

It is the comparison between the translated text and the source text. Verification is done by a translator (not the one that carried out the translation) whose native language is the target language. The aim is to check the accuracy of the translation against the original text (substantial verification), as well as the text formatting (detection and correction of language errors, including errors in spelling, punctuation, grammar, vocabulary and style).
